Thomas Joshua Cooper at Glasgow School of Art
Professor Thomas Joshua Cooper is a legend in my book. He’s the Head of Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art and a truly amazing landscape photographer. I photographed his lecture at GSA this week where he spoke about his project, The World’s Edge – the Atlantic Basin Project – An Atlas of Emptiness and Extremity which so far involves photographic work from the cardinal extremities of various continents as well as the north and south poles. Getting to these places is an immense achievement in itself but the visual work he has produced from these trips is in another league. The audience were as enthralled and fascinated as I was.
