About the project

McAteer Photo was asked by interior designers, Haa and financial institution, Morgan Stanley to photograph the complete fit-out of the new nine-floor, grade A office space in Waterloo Street in the principal business centre of Glasgow, known as the International Financial Services District.

The Morgan Stanley building offers an inviting and friendly space for their c.1400 members of staff, with the environment offering up a gym, ergonomic breakout areas, comfortable collaboration spaces, state-of-the-art conference rooms and beautiful open-plan offices. Staff also have a bright and friendly in-house restaurant at their disposal along with a meditation space, an all-faith prayer room and an on-site health care centre.

In this day and age we all seem to spend such a large percentage of our lives at work so it’s great to see the attention to detail that our clients are paying to these spaces to help make the working day that bit easier. Designers Haa and fitters Sharkey have done an amazing job creating an office space that both maximises natural light and creates a warm and friendly space to work. The open, spacious reception area with its clean lines made for some really nice visual contrast through the camera lens and the restaurant was fun to photograph as well with its twisty lighting and easy-on-the-eye colour palette.
