Emirates Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome
About the project
The Emirates Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome was designed to be the showpiece venue for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. It was the only completely new sports facility designed for the games and provides two distinct venues under one roof. The arena and velodrome are linked by a connecting building which includes offices for the National Sport Federations.
We’ve photographed both buildings for a number of clients including the international architects 3D Reid who designed the venue, the Youth Olympic Games 2018 Bid, Ove Arup, Glasgow Life, Visit Scotland and many more contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine who have taken advantage of our multiple party usage offer.
Our briefs have been varied. They’ve taken in the unique design of the structural steel and how the mechanical and electrical equipment was installed as well as the facilities including the amazing track in the Veldodrome and the sporting arena. Not to mention photographing the architectural design itself and the lighting.
We’ve visited the venues at all times of the day and in different seasons to give us an enviable collection of images.
