One year on from the Commonwealth Games

Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014

Well – a year on and we’re still enjoying the memories of a brilliant summer in Glasgow when the Commonwealth Games came to the city, the sun shone bright and the streets and venues buzzed with a vibrant and infectious atmosphere.

Yesterday’s publication of an official report into the 2014 Games has said it was worth £740m to the Scottish economy and left an unrivalled legacy that future Games will now try to match – an amazing success story if ever there was one.

It was certainly a busy time for McAteer Photograph.  As Lesley was regressing to her former life as an event producer and working with the artists on the opening and closing ceremonies, Alan and Henk furiously photographing all of the Festival 2014 action for Glasgow City Council.

You can share our memories of the Festival 2014 that celebrated the games in our Story Behind.  The pictures are guaranteed to put a smile on your face 🙂
