Temporary roof, GSA Mackintosh building
Restoration has begun on Glasgow School of Art’s Mackintosh building which was devastated by fire in May of this summer. The steel structure of a temporary roof was put in place today to help keep out the elements as work takes place below in the coming months and years. High winds and other factors delayed the start of the operation by a few hours but Alan and a gaggle of press photographers held out to capture the moment when massive cranes lifted the structure in place.
