Alan recently photographed the demolition and construction taking place at 64 Princes Street which features a rather special backdrop: Edinburgh Castle.
The crisp light on this sunny spring day made for some striking shots, which will be showcased in a future issue of the New Civil Engineer magazine. The mag is looking to feature the ISG site showing the complex demolition and reconstruction process involved in updating the former BHS-store building – including works that are taking place underneath Rose Street. Once finished, the building will offer a new home for street-level restaurants and retail units as well as a 136-bed hotel and a rooftop restaurant. From what I have seen so far, it looks like the view from 64 Princes Street will be fabulous for dinner.
