The Scottish Business Pledge is a voluntary commitment by Scottish companies to uphold the best modern business practices and to embrace the principles of fairness, equality opportunity and innovation. Any business can sign up to the the Pledge which has nine parts to it, including: investing in youth, paying the living wage and committing to an innovation programme.
Scottish Enterprise asked McAteer Photograph to pay a visit to some of the businesses who have already signed up. We collaborated with copywriters, Blackad on the project who interviewed each of the companies for an online case study which we in turn illustrated. The eight companies we photographed were based throughout Scotland and covered a wide variety of sectors including marine science (Xanthella in Oban), food and drink (Inveralmond Brewery in Fife), creative/digital/branding (Made Brave in Glasgow) and eco-tourism (Comrie Croft in Perthshire). Our brief was to represent the company and its products or services within the context of the Business Pledge itself. We were to photograph both the business and the interviewee. As always on these shoots we meet some really interesting people and are reminded of what a beautiful, friendly and innovative country we live and work in.
We think we’ll sign up ourselves as we already meet the all the criteria. The case studies can be found at scottish-enterprise.com/knowledge-hub (and type in ‘Scottish Business Pledge’ into the search)
